Status-Driven Publishing Demo

Proving that the folder no longer gates publication in status mode.

Demonstration content. This essay sits in 06-drafts/essays/, it was never moved to 07-publishing/. In the default folder-mode sync it is ignored. In --by-status mode it publishes, because status: published.

Introduction

The point of this note is to show that status-driven mode decouples "where a note lives" from "is it live."

Argument

In status mode the sync scans drafts, publishing, and published, then publishes anything marked published, updated, or a due scheduled. Private access is refused outright.

Analysis

Folder mode and status mode share the exact same validator and file mapping, only the selection rule differs.

Implications

Pick folder mode for a hard physical publish boundary; pick status mode to skip the folder shuffle and let frontmatter drive everything.
